New Recruits and Origins Server

Been a little while since I posted a news update as I've been playing a helluva lot of DayZ Origins. The DayZ addiction has well and truly set back in. First of all I'd like to say how great it is to see many of our long-time members jumping on Origins with us and getting stuck in, working towards a common goal. I'm more excited for Standalone now than I have been since it's announcement as if we carry on like we are doing it will be an absolutely fantastic time for Haven.

This brings me on to my next point. We're finally growing again! We've had a couple of apps for Star Citizen and several new apps for DayZ. I'd like to welcome all new recruits to Haven and I really look forward to getting to know you all better and getting some games in with you. Right now our priority is adding to our U.S division. As most of you will know after we stopped playing DayZ Vanilla last year and moved on to other games we did understandably lose several members,  including most of our U.S guys. Now some of you have returned and that's fantastic but right now our U.K/EU members still outnumber our U.S/NA team by quite a margin and so we're working hard to balance this out.

Most of you will have noticed that we now have our own DayZ Origins server also. Having our own server allows us to establish ourselves as a friendly and active community and already some of the people playing on our server have expressed interest in joining us or trading with us when we open up trade so it's an exciting time for our DayZ players as everything starts to come together. With the extra features that Origins offers such as building houses and garages to safely store equipment and vehicles making our lives much easier and the task of establishing Fort Haven as a trading outpost even more viable than before.

Some of our members are still regularly playing other games together including League of Legends, World of Tanks, NeverWinter and more so there's plenty going on in Haven right now. Things are looking bright for the future and we have some exciting things coming up as we get closer to the Star Citizen and DayZ Standalone alpha's so stay tuned!

Site Enhancements

In this article I mentioned some of Haven's current and upcoming projects but probably the biggest ongoing project we have is our website. Right now I'm quite happy with the state of the site for the most part. We have everything we need from a functional community website including a frontpage for news and chatting in real time to a forum that allows our members to discuss anything they like. With that said, the site will continue to change and evolve as additions and enhancements are made to it over time. Hit read more to find out about some of the exciting new features that will be coming to the site soon.

Ongoing and Upcoming Projects

We have a lot of exciting ideas on the cards for Haven, some of which I'll share with you in this article. In the coming months we'll be recruiting heavily for both DayZ Standalone and Star Citizen, whilst these aren't the only games we'll be playing or recruiting for they are our main focus. We don't want to just have an in-game presence for these games (though that is of course a major goal for us) we also want to have ongoing out of game projects that allow our members to get creative, hit read more for more information.

Haven Re-launch

Created in August 2012 as a DayZ mod clan, Fort Haven has enjoyed a successful 9 months since its creation. At our peak we regularly had between 40 and 50 users on our Mumble server each evening with around the clock activity in the U.S and EU. Over the past few months things have quietened down somewhat as we moved away from DayZ due to the myriad problems with the mod. We've lost good members along the way unfortunately but have gained others and our activity level has settled to a steady EU presence.
